up on jim's presentation. thank you. just also want to thank you. not long ago you gave a water tour for me and commissioner aldz. the one thing that struck me was the tremendous opportunity for expanding those operations. now every time i look at the water i understand the tremendous amount of ships that are waiting to bring in the products. i want to say this is an opportunity that will be a chance to make our port unique and uncomfortable >> will it will be there is an opportunity for export. there's a lot of export places in the west. but china needs a lot of things and they're now focusing on the u.s. and seeing there's a lot of opportunity like iron ore and other products. if so market can shift a little bit more and we can continue to build our project. we've been good to develop our products. we need the market to shift a little bit more. i think also for the great unbelievable at pier 80 i think there's a great opportunity for bringing in more steel direct to rail and out to the u.s. via the rail infrastructure. and there's also a lot of projects that are ready to get underw

today's calendar and directors, jim pat trick would like to address you. >> i have additional things to add there. number one, the west end, no thanks. i do have the hand out, which is available for you to look at. if you look at the baoel street entrance, that is the one displayed by everyone. you never see the west end entrance, why don't you see the we can end entrance? well, it is just sort of a second sister, what we are talking about specifically is this is the diagram and you see the circle part of it is the west end exit of the transbay depot. and it has gone, major design problems. and it has a risk problem and it has a cost problem and there are some changes. what has happened given the contractors recently signed for the building. and i have a recommendation for the board. and this is what the baoel street looks like. i think that it is fantastic and does a great job. >> this is what the west end looks like, we have created a stairway elevator and it is really not very interesting. you see, with the look disappears to allow for this free standing building. this is the side vi

cac going for six years now, and i want to acknowledge jim lacerous who has been a member has termed out it has been a member and served as at chair for the entire six years to date. so his participation is appreciated. we had a great response to our interest for applicants this year and we had a total of 19 applications and virtually without exception, the candidates brought a wealth of experience in multiple areas of which we are looking for on our cac. if you are not familiar our cac is 15 members, and each of these 15 seats is designated to have a specific area of interest or representation including a bicycle advocate and a disabled advocate and a representative from labor, a resident of district six and almost without exception, people brought a breadth of experience to the applications. we have a total of 7 recommendations brought to you today. and including three returning members and four new members to the cac. and two of the new applicants are here today, and they would be available to speak if you would like to. and if you have any other questions, i would be happy to ans

different animal. and i've talked to my counterpart down there, jim feather stone. they're having problems even with their bay web project and they got a lot more money through mtia through the federal grants for their bay web project or their dtoc project rather than we did. and they've already gone out to bid twice -- throw during the third time to bring on a vendor to help them build out the system and they have not been able to yet. >> and i appreciate your point around needing the budget that is transparent. and again, this is why i've asked to bring this in front of this budget committee. as you know, this is the first time we've had a public discussion on this topic. and from my perspective, we've been having discussions at coit. it's been difficult to get to the bottom of what we're doing. so, i do look forward to continuing the conversations about how we can all work together to get this done right. >> i only have a couple more slides. i'm almost through. i wanted to show you what the anticipated schedule is. so, again, i mentioned before, bay web 2015 build out, that's b

organization and service, thank you. @x >> on december 28, 1912. san francisco mayor, sonny jim rolph stared into the crowds of those who have gathered. a m >> linda. >> good evening, i am linda lighthouser, i will like to thank mayor lee and supervisor avalos for the wonderful opportunity to apply for the community action grants. and one group i belong to is a recipient of that grantee. and tonight i am here to talk about another community project. it regards greater activation of mcclair park, the city's second largest park, and encompasses district 9, 10 and 11. but usually on the low end of funding with the city. i have been working with the rec and park division and many divisions within rec and park, to bring more activities to mcclarin park, and one is to activate the community theater and work with the police patrol and citizens to create supervision and added security for the park to add events for the public at low fees. we are excited about this project, but funding of course in this situation is also in need. we hopeful that the three supervisors that surround the park will provi
